Welcome to Sweeney Racing...This site has been developed to give the most up to date race results to our fans! This page will be up-dated on a weekly basis. We are excited to offer our fans information on where we will be racing, fun facts about our race team and our driver.

Sweeney racing had it's start a few years ago and has grown from there. This is a family based team. Bob Sweeney is the team owner. His son James is the driver. Uncle Dallas is a sponsor, business manager and on the pit crew. Grandpa Jack is a BIG sponsor and various Aunts and Uncles are our support team. We also have a fantastic support base from our extended family...Our crew  Bill,Butch, Kyle, Nick, Riley and Morgan.

James Sweeney, our driver, decided years ago that he liked to drive anything with wheels. He started out with a quad in his parents backyard and then moved to a Jeep on Christmas Day on the Rubicon Trail at the age of 8. From there he moved to kart racing.

James raced karts for three years and then in 2006 he moved to a 360 sprint car. It was a close battle for the "Rookie of the Year" title at the Placerville Speedway. James went back and forth against Matt Petty from Jackson, CA, most of the season. In the end James squeaked out the victory by 11 points.

In his second year James finished seventh in points and tied for first in Heat wins at Placerville Speedway. James would like to win the Placerville Speedway Championship during his third season.
